Long lines and delightful deals kick off Black Friday at Palm Beach Outlets

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —It’s time to buckle up for the busiest shopping time of the year. "We had dinner rather early so we could get here,” said a woman who was shopping for her grandkids at Palm Beach Outlets in West Palm Beach Thursday night.

The lines at the Nike outlet were still wrapped around the store as of 11 p.m. Friday.

"What we've found more recently is that on Thursday, stores are offering better deals, better sales and people want to go shopping after eating some turkey. Why not burn it off?” said Sarah Kudisch.

Kudisch is the general manager at the outlets where people waited for most of the more than 130 stores to open their doors at 7 p.m. Thursday.

“What do they call it? Retail therapy," said another shopper.

Over the last few weeks, four new stores have opened at the outlets including Polo Ralph Lauren, Aeropostale, Five Below and True religion. There's also now free Wi-Fi and some new restaurants to come.

Kudisch said, "We have Moe's opening up soon, Caribou Coffee and Burger King."

Americans are expected to spend $90.1 billion on Black Friday this year, according to Finder.com.

The outlets open for Black Friday at 8 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m. The first 200 shoppers will get a shopping survival kit. Also, Santa Claus will be there to take pictures with kids for free.
