Asheville Outlets Celebrates First Anniversary

Weekend Events Include Community Day and Kids Day

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (April 27, 2016) – In celebration of the first anniversary, Asheville Outlets will host two days of family-fun activities, entertainment and shopping. The celebration will begin on Saturday, April 30th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with Community Day and the ABCCM Truck & Tractor Show.  Then on Sunday May 1st from noon – 3:00 p.m., kids of all ages will enjoy Kids Day.

On Saturday, over 20 area non-profits will be on-site with interactive booths and displays while live music from NC Mountain Music and Rock Academy will fill the center.  In addition, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) will host a truck and tractor show next to Field & Stream. The show is free to the public and $20 per vehicle to enter the show. 100% of the proceeds will benefit ABCCM.

On Sunday, the festivities are free for kids and their families and feature various activities including: balloon art, strolling magic, a stilt walker & unicyclist, face painting, arts & crafts, juggling and more live music.  Plus, kid-friendly booths will line the center for hands-on fun.

“We have had a successful first year,” said Sharon Morgan, General Manager, Asheville Outlets.  “Since we opened last year on May 1st, we now have close to 70 retailers,” she continued.  According to Morgan, just in the last month RH Outlet, Starbucks, New Balance Factory Store, Kirkland’s and SKECHERS have opened.  WorkShop Tools is expected to open the first of May.  Acropolis Pizza Café and Francesca’s will join the tenant mix in early summer.
