ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (September 2018) – The British Car Club of Western North Carolina (www.BCCWNC.org) has announced its 19th Annual Autumn in the Mountains Car Show to be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Asheville Outlets (www.ShopAshevilleOutlets.com). Admission is free and open to the public.
The Autumn in the Mountains Car Show is an annual charitable event which is open to any and all British and European cars and motorcycles. Autumn in the Mountains originated in 1999. Each year, the BCCWNC chooses a designated charity that benefits from the fund-raising efforts of the car show. To date, the organization has raised over $40,000 for local charities. For this year’s event, the designated charity is ‘Meals on Wheels’ of both Buncombe and Henderson Counties.
Gold-level sponsors include Asheville Outlets, Highland Brewing Company and Paramount Automotive Group (Kia of Asheville). Silver-level sponsors are Biltmore Wines and Moss Motors. Bronze-level sponsor is Basically British of Brevard.
“We are thrilled to hold our Autumn in the Mountains car and motorcycle show at Asheville Outlets this year,” stated Mitch Andrus, BCCWNC President. “And, we’re very pleased to have Asheville Outlets as one of our Gold-level sponsors for the event,” he continued.
John Condren (Chairman for the car show) added, “Asheville Outlets is one of the core destinations in Asheville, attracting people from all over the region. We’re excited to be a part of welcoming these visitors and guests to both exhibit in and attend our car show.”
The show will open at 9:00 a.m. and Best-of-Class awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Past shows have attracted over 120 cars and motorcycles. This year, utilizing the always popular Asheville Outlets as the show site, show organizers anticipate a record setting number of cars and bikes to be on display. Vehicles will include classic cars, race cars, racing motorcycles, rare-exotic sports cars and antique motorcycles. The show will also feature local vendors offering products and services related to British and European cars and motorcycles, as well as the general automotive industry. Food and beverages will be available as well.
The British Car Club of Western North Carolina has 100 members and features over 200 classic British cars. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in British Cars – you don’t have to own one! Monthly business meetings are held near the Asheville Airport (just off 1-26 at exit 40) on the first Tuesday of every month. Meetings encompass information on past and upcoming events, planning socials, long-range program support, and engaging technical and travel-related presentations. Most months, there are various weekend tours and driving events to intriguing destinations throughout the Blue Ridge.
