West Palm Beach, Fla. — Palm Beach Outlets will celebrate its second birthday on Sat., Feb. 13, with an event that will feature the World Birthday Cake-Eating Championship, sponsored by Whole Foods Market, beginning at 1 p.m. Other happenings will include kids’ activities, entertainment, raffles every hour sidewalk sales that will continue through Sunday evening.
Sanctioned by Major League Eating, the eight-minute, all-you-can-eat World Birthday Cake-Eating Championship will feature a field of 12 eaters battling for their share of $5,000 in cash prizes. Last year, Matt Stonie, the #1-ranked eater in the world, set a new world eating record by consuming 14.5 pounds of birthday cake in just under eight minutes. Stonie will go head-to-head against the #3-ranked eater Miki Sudo, who has consumed 104 hard-boiled eggs in eight minutes. Other top eating talent will include the #5-ranked Adrian “The Rabbit” Morgan, the #10-ranked Geoffrey Esper, #11-ranked Yasir Salem, the #12-ranked Gideon “The Truth” Oji, and #22-ranked Nate Biller.
Valentine’s Day 2014 marked the birth of Palm Beach Outlets, which is located directly off Interstate 95 on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
