Deborah Black manages corporate, development, and leasing-related marketing and communications at New England Development. Her responsibilities include branding, media relations, marketing collateral, website development, environmental graphics, and social media. She also assists MarketPlace Development, New England Development’s airport retail company, with new business development.
Prior to joining New England Development in 2004, Deborah worked at MarketPlace Development for seven years as Director of Marketing. She developed the marketing and customer service strategies for the firm’s projects at Philadelphia International Airport and LaGuardia Airport and managed MarketPlace’s tenant outreach at San Francisco International and Seattle-Tacoma International Airports.
Ms. Black also served as Marketing Manager for Beacon Management Company where she directed all marketing activities for revenue-generating components of a 15.8 million square foot portfolio, including Boston’s South Station. From 1984 to 1991, she worked at R.M. Bradley as Director of Marketing for Boston’s Prudential Center, where she directed all of the property’s marketing, promotions, public relations and tenant relations activities.
She also worked at the Artists Foundation for seven years, where she ran the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards, the MDC's Public Art Program, Lawyers for the Arts, and the artists-in-residence program. Prior to that, she worked at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in the development department.
Ms. Black received her B.A. in Art History from Cornell University.
