Khaled Hashem

Khaled Hashem has served as Managing Director of Hospitality for New England Development since 2004. The Hospitality division includes White Elephant Resorts, which owns and manages a collection of luxury properties in Nantucket Island, Massachusetts & Palm Beach, Florida. Both Nantucket & Palm Beach have been compelling coastal destinations for tourists and vacationers for over a century, and their appeal continues to increase. Mr. Hashem oversees overall operations, finance, marketing/public relations, and maintenance. He also oversees Michael’s Harborside in Newburyport and The Market at The Pinehills. 

An international hotelier, Mr. Hashem has over 35 years of experience within the hospitality industry managing luxury AAA Four & Five Diamond properties. He is known for his skilled approach to hotel management as well as his success with the operation of prestigious resorts worldwide.  Prior to joining Nantucket Island Resorts, Mr. Hashem worked with Four Seasons Hotels, Marriott Hotels, and Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, operating at various executive levels in operations and finance in major cities around the U.S., Mexico, and the Middle East.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in Business Administration and attended several executive training programs at the University of Houston, Cornell University, and Culinary Institute of America.

Currently, Mr. Hashem is a board member of the Massachusetts Lodging Association and serves on the advisory board of the local Nantucket chapter of Hospice. Previously, he was a board member of Nantucket Holiday for Heroes, Nantucket Boys & Girls Club and the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce.
