Michael DiCosola is an accomplished real estate executive with more than 25 years in retail leasing in mall and airport environments.
As Executive Vice President, Michael is responsible for the directing MarketPlace’s merchandising and leasing activities at airports nationwide, with the goal of increasing revenue for the airport/airline client and for retailers, while enhancing passenger satisfaction. He develops merchandising plans incorporating local, regional, national and ACDBE tenants; works with airport-based MarketPlace staff to ensure effective tenant outreach, and directs tenant lease negotiations. He is also involved with business development, strategic planning, finance and acquisitions, and project management.
Prior to joining MarketPlace Development, Michael served as Vice President of Real Estate for Lids Corporation, helping to build a start-up company into a $130 million multi-channel retail business. In this capacity, he managed the site selection, lease negotiations and construction of stores throughout the United States in regional malls, outlet centers, specialty centers, street locations, and airports. Michael was also Head of Real Estate at Sunglass Hut International and served as Senior Real Estate Representative for Petrie Stores Corporation.
Michael received a B.S. from Old Dominion University, magna cum laude, and an M.S. in Real Estate from New York University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and Airports Council International-NA.
