Best of British in Newburyport Presents an English Holiday

Local Purveyor of “All Things British” Brings Over 30 Years of Tradition to Newburyport

NEWBURYPORT, MASSACHUSETTS (December 2020) -- Best of British, located at 22 State Street in downtown Newburyport, offers fine imported goods from the United Kingdom and Ireland, including a carefully curated collection of coats from Barbour, Irish jewelry by Heather Gems, coasters and placemats by Pimpernel and more. Brimming with imported foods, clothing, and gift items, Best of British has been a local resource for all things England for over thirty years.

Create at Traditional English Holiday
With the holidays quickly approaching, Best of British has everything needed to create a traditional English holiday table. Mince pies, Christmas pudding, Brandy Butter, Clotted Cream, Chutneys, English Toffee Pudding, and more are all available.

Best of British presents the traditional English holiday table beginning with “Christmas Crackers”. Christmas Crackers are used to set the table each holiday season. Sold in groups of six or twelve, each Cracker holds a hat and gift inside, as well as an English riddle or joke. On Christmas Day, guests wear the hat found within their Cracker. After the traditional feast, families and friends enjoy English tea and the perennial favorite Iced Christmas Cake.

“We are delighted to present a traditional English Holiday, even though this year has been a challenge for all of us,” says Stephen Murray, Owner of Best of British, and an Englishman himself. “Tradition is particularly important in difficult times. Best of British is committed to helping families create a magical English Christmas celebration, although it may be intimate or virtual this year,” he adds.

Best of British is open daily in downtown Newburyport. Shoppers can visit the store in person or peruse the Best of British Facebook page to order items for curbside pick-up. Beyond holiday food items, Best of British offers special gifts not easily available in the United States including Barbour scarves, hats, and classic coats, Heather Gems jewelry, classic British fragrances for men & women, tea pots and tea cozies, and more.
