CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS (August 2020) – CambridgeSide (CambridgeSide.com) has teamed with Cambridge-based East End House to launch a School Supply Drive to help meet the needs of local school children. In the era of COVID-19, East End House is hosting a virtual and traditional school supply drive to ensure all under-resourced and vulnerable children in the community will have the necessary school supplies in September and beyond, whether learning in the classroom or at home.
The program will have two ways to donate: Traditional school supply donation drop-off locations will be available at East End House and CambridgeSide Welcome Center. Virtual donations to purchase needed supplies can be made at EastEndHouse.org. 100% of all proceeds will go to eligible children and families from Cambridge and Somerville, and adjacent neighborhoods.
“At East End House we want every child to be prepared for school,” says Michael Delia of East End House. “We help students develop healthy lifestyles, along with academic and social-emotional skills that are essential for classroom learning. However, sometimes one’s ability to succeed depends on simple, physical items like pencils, notebooks, crayons and other school supplies,” he adds.
“We are happy once again to team with East End House on this important school supply drive which will help students in our area to be prepared for the start of the new school year. Whether learning in school or at home supplies will still be needed,” says Melissa LaVita, Senior Marketing Director of CambridgeSide.
