CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS (November 2020) – CambridgeSide has launched their annual canned food drive, benefiting The Salvation Army of Cambridge. As coronavirus continues to affect our local community, the much-needed donations will be used for Thanksgiving baskets to local families living in Cambridge, Somerville and Arlington.
“This year, the need is greater than ever and every donation of canned food and pantry items is vital,” says Judy Hart, Major of The Salvation Army of Cambridge. “Due to Covid-19, more people are hurting and unfortunately, we have fewer Red Kettles to help them this season. Generosity will help save the holidays for the most vulnerable,” she adds.
Suggested donation items include: Baking Mixes, Canned Vegetables, Stuffing Mix, Potato Mix, Pie Filling and Crust Mix, Cranberry Sauce, Gravy, Pie and Roasting Pans, Baby Food, Freezer Bags and more. Donations can be dropped off at the Welcome Center on Level 1. New this year, online donations will also be accepted. For more information or to make an online donation, visit CambridgeSide.com.
“CambridgeSide is pleased to host this vital food drive for The Salvation Army of Cambridge,” says Melissa LaVita, Senior Marketing Director of CambridgeSide. “Due to COVID-19, the need in greater than ever and we are making it easier than ever to make a meaningful donation of food – whether online or at CambridgeSide,” she adds.
