Washington, D.C. – December 7, 2018 – MarketPlace Development has appointed airport industry veteran Kathleen Verret as Vice President, Washington Region, for Ronald Reagan National Airport and Dulles International Airport. Kathleen will direct MarketPlace Development’s airport concessions planning, strategies and programs at Reagan National and Dulles International Airports in partnership with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Kathleen is a 20-year airport industry veteran with experience managing and directing airport concession and lease programs at medium and large hub airports, including Ronald Reagan Washington National and Dulles International Airports for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Chicago ‘s O’Hare and Midway Airports, as well as the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
She began her career with the Louis Armstrong-New Orleans International Airport as the in-house legal counsel, advising the New Orleans Aviation Board and the airport’s executive staff on all legal matters involving the management and operation of the airport. Ms. Verret’s experience also includes working for Avis/Budget Group, the parent company of Avis and Budget Rent a Car companies, as the Regional Properties Director for the central region of the United States. She represented both rental car companies on real estate and concession contract matters at numerous airports and non-airport locations.
Kathleen’s most recent position was that of Senior Director, Concessions Management with Unison Consulting in Chicago, Illinois. Her responsibilities included directing the management of day-to-day concessions program and staff at Chicago O’Hare and Midway International Airports for the City of Chicago, Department of Aviation, as well as implementing strategies to optimize revenue for the concessions program.
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and public administration from Xavier University of Louisiana. She also holds a Juris Doctorate in civil law from Southern University Law School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
