Take a drone-led tour of this insane Westwood fitness center

(July 14, 2015 - Boston Business Journal) Luxury fitness club operator Life Time Fitness is set to open its three-story, 128,000-square-foot Westwood operation later this month and now we know more about what it looks like — courtesy of a drone.

The $28 million building on Harvard Street is the Minnesota-based company's first in New England. A formal opening is set for July 20.

A popular Vietnamese food truck is expanding to the suburbs with new restaurant

(July 12, 2015 - Boston Business Journal)   Bon Me, a popular food truck that opened brick-and-mortar locations in Boston and Cambridge, is planning to open a restaurant in Chestnut Hill.

The restaurant would open this winter in Chestnut Hill Square, which is also home to a Wegmans supermarket, salad chain Sweetgreen and Equinox fitness center.

Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops to Hold Runway Fashion Show

PHILADELPHIA — July 13, 2015 — The runways at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) have never looked so good. On Friday, July 17, Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops will host a fashion show featuring summer and fall’s hottest looks, all of which can be found at stores within the airport. The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders will be on-hand to serve as models for the show.

A big-time player in luxury fitness clubs is about to open shop in Westwood

Luxury fitness club operator Life Time Fitness is set to open its three-story, 128,000-square-foot Westwood operation later this month.

The location on Harvard Street is the Minnesota-based company's first in New England. Construction cost about $28 million, Life Time stated in a news release. A formal opening is set for July 20.

Fitness highlights include: an aquatic center with laptop and leisure pools; basketball courts; cardiovascular equipments; weights; and workout studios.

West Elm Asheville Outlet Now Open at Asheville Outlets

ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (July 02, 2015) – With shoppers waiting in line to get in, West Elm Asheville Outlet officially opened at Asheville Outlets on Thursday, July 2nd  at 10AM.  Representatives from Asheville Outlets and West Elm Outlet made brief remarks in front of the new store, cut the ribbon and opened the doors for the first time to the public. Shoppers were eager to get their first look at the new store and take advantage of the grand opening sales.

Reagan National Unveils Trendy New Bar

(June 24, 2015 - Airport World) The sound of champagne corks popping could be heard at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport this week as the gateway opened its newest bar.

Called District, the sleek new addition to the airport's watering holes is located pre-security in Terminal A.

Its opening, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, MarketPlace Development and OTG is part of an ongoing transformation of the terminal.

“We are thrilled to bring travellers this new pre-security experience," says OTG's CEO, Rick Blatstein.

Peggy Adams to celebrate 90th anniversary at PB Outlets

(JUne 22, 2015 - Palm Beach Post) 

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a special event this weekend at Palm Beach Outlets.

The open-air mall will host a community celebration for the non-profit pet shelter from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a news release announcing the event, three randomly selected winners will receive a $90 shopping spree to Palm Beach Outlets.

How is Douglass Karp Expanding His Dad's Retail and Hotel Empire?

Going to the mall wasn’t the same for Douglass Karp as it was for most kids. In 1972, his father, Stephen Karp, opened one of the first enclosed shopping malls in the Northeast; he would go on to develop dozens of malls and other shopping complexes around the country. “When we would go on vacation, we had to see what mall was built in the area,” says the younger Karp. “What I didn’t realize was that he was teaching me at a pretty early age about foot traffic patterns and where the anchors and the food court should be.”

Planet Fitness Ready to Open in Lynn

LYNN — Planet Fitness, the health club franchise known for its affordable prices, will open its first club in Lynn at 50 Boston St. — the old Johnnie’s Foodmaster — Tuesday.

A ribbon cutting will be held on Monday, June 25 between 4-6 p.m. with food, beverages and a raffle for the chance to win a one-year membership, among other prizes.

Up to the grand opening, new members can join for just $1 down and then $10 a month with no commitment.

Florida Currency Exchange to open in Palm Beach Outlets

(May 29, 2015:  Palm Beach Post) Florida Currency Exchange is set to open Monday at Palm Beach Outlets, mall officials have announced.

The company, which offers more than 80 currencies for exchange, will be located at the customer service desk inside at mall’s food pavilion.

The open-air outlet mall has been a popular shopping destination for out-of-town and international tourists.

Wegmans now hiring for new University Station location

(May 22, 2015:  Canton Citizen) Wegmans Food Markets announced last week that it is now hiring and training for both part-time and full-time positions for its new Westwood location on University Avenue near I-95, set to open on October 11. A variety of positions in all departments are available. These include a significant number of culinary positions, such as cooks and front of house.
