Andrew Harper’s 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards Names The Wauwinet a Top U.S. Hideaway

The Wauwinet has been recognized in Andrew Harper’s 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards in the “Top 20 U.S. Hideaway” category of 50 rooms or less. The Wauwinet, Nantucket’s signature Relais & Châteaux property, was the only hotel on island to receive this award with an overall score of 96 (out of 100). The results were announced in the September 2014 issue.

President behind Asheville Outlets talks jobs, stores

(Asheville Citizen-Times - August 20, 2014) The president of New England Development, the real estate company behind the Asheville Outlets, was interested in opening a retail center in Asheville for a lot of the same reasons that people move to Asheville.

"It's just a great place," said Douglass Karp, president of the Massachusetts-based business. "We have friends who have spent time there or own homes there."

Palm Beach Outlets going strong after 6 months; more to come

(Sun Sentinel - Miriam Velarde)   Since opening its doors on Valentine's Day, Palm Beach Outlets has drawn about 4 million visitors, added more shops and restaurants and rolled out community events such as green markets on Saturdays.  The shopping center — at 1751 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. in West Palm Beach, just off Interstate 95 — opened with nearly 100 retailers. By year's end, the 500,000-square-foot center is expected to have at least 10 more shops open for business.

First look at Asheville Outlets fashion campaign

(Asheville Citizen-Times - July 30, 2014) The developers of the new Asheville Outlets offered a sneak peak at their target customer Tuesday.

Representatives from New England Development, a national estate development and management company, are creating a national advertising campaign for the future Asheville Outlets, as well as its other retail spaces, in the Asheville area this week.

Work begins on Outlets at Little Rock

(Little Rock Soiree - July 25, 2014) Just a little while longer, shoppers!

Our sister publication, Arkansas Business, reported Tuesday that work has begun on the site of Outlets at Little Rock.

The outlet mall, located at Gateway Town Center near Bass Pro Shops, is planned to be 325,000-SF and offer about 75 shops. It's scheduled to open next summer. Hopefully, we can wait that long!

CambridgeSide Galleria Presents a Day of Free Family Fun

Cambridge, MA (Summer 2014) – CambridgeSide Galleria will host the Fifth Annual Run & Ride at CambridgeSide on Sunday, July 27th. Newton Mayor Setti Warren Celebrates Special Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

NEWTON, MA—Newton Mayor Setti D. Warren (third from left) and Kevin Tabb, MD, President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), (third from right), recently cut the ribbon to mark the  opening of the new Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare-Chestnut Hill outpatient facility at Chestnut Hill Square in Newton.

The ceremony included remarks from Kevin Tabb, MD, Mayor Warren, Jayne Carvelli-Sheehan, and Linda Sloane Kay. After the ceremony, public officials, BIDMC physicians, clinicians, and other guests toured the facility and attended a reception.

New outlet mall to bring 1,000 jobs to Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — New England Development of Newton, Mass., has selected local construction contractor CDI Contractors, LLC as construction manager of the new 30-acre Outlets at Little Rock project, planned for the Gateway Town Center at the intersection of I-30 and I-430, where site work has begun.

The 325,000-square-foot center will be adjacent to the only Bass Pro Shops store in Arkansas and will include approximately 75 stores.

Site Work Starts for Outlet Mall in West Little Rock

(Arkansas Business - June 24, 2014) Site work for a proposed outlet mall has begun on a 30-acre tract of land at the Gateway Town Center in west Little Rock.

Arkansas Business first reported on New England Development's planned purchase of the land in February. The $5.2 million land acquisition was made in May.

Construction underway for Outlet Mall in Otter Creek

(Arkansas Times - June 24, 2014) - New England Development of Newton, Mass., announced in a release today that CDI Contractors of Little Rock would be the construction manager for the Outlets at Little Rock, an outlet mall planned for the Gateway Town Center at I-30 and I-430 in Otter Creek.

Site work has begun for the 325,000-square-foot center, which will have about 75 shops adjacent to the new Bass Pro Shops.

Starbucks Opens First Ever Location at Philadelphia International Airport

PHILADELPHIA — June 23, 2014 — It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The grand opening of Starbucks Coffee took place today in PHL’s B/C Connector.

Representatives from the MarketPlace Philadelphia Management, the Department of Aviation, HMSHost and Starbucks celebrated the arrival of the world-famous coffee brand with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Rina Cutler, Deputy Mayor of Transportation and Utilities for Philadelphia, was on-hand to offer remarks and enjoy the first official cup of coffee.

Marketplace at the Outlets to open in the fall in West Palm Beach

(WPTV - June 20, 2014) WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Attention shoppers! If you enjoy bargains at the Palm Beach Outlets, just wait. Even more stores are opening nearby.

New England Development announced this week it will open Marketplace at the Outlets in the fall.

It's described as a 300,000 square foot retail center adjacent to Palm Beach Outlets on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.

20 stores to open next to Palm Beach Outlets this fall

(South Florida Business Journal - June 20, 2014)

Newton, Mass.-based New England Development announced that Marketplace at the Outlets, a new 300,000-square-foot retail center near the Palm Beach Outlets, will open this fall.

The real estate company partnered with Woburn, Mass.-based Eastern Real Estate to develop the property, which will feature an estimated 20 stores including Bed, Bath & Beyond; DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse; Nordstrom Rack; Old Navy; PetSmart and Whole Foods Market.

New stores will be announced in the coming months.
