(January 26, 2015 – ROMULUS, Mich. – WDIV.com )
Plans have been announced to build a 360,000-square-foot outlet mall off Interstate 94 in Romulus. In a statement Monday, New England Development and Paragon Outlet Partners said opening of “Outlets of Michigan”– which will be opposite of Detroit Metro Airport — is planned for 2016. Specific outlet stores weren’t named, but the developers said approximately 90 stores would occupy the site.
A new retail mecca is expected to spring from the old cornfields northwest of Metro Airport. This is just the beginning of big things for the region. Romulus and the developers will begin the permitting process next week with shovels in the dirt sometimes in the summer of 2015 and they hope you will come here to shop in late summer or early fall of 2016.
