A popular LA-based build-your-own pizza shop is opening a location in Cambridge this spring.
PizzaRev, which began in California and has locations in Colorado, Nevada, New York, Ohio and Tennessee, announced Monday it will open a spot in the CambridgeSide Galleria food court.
“The company,” according to a release, “selected the location based on its diverse customers including students, area workers, tourists and residents.”
Florida-based World of Beer targeted CambridgeSide for similar reasons, and will open a location there this June. That spot will feature 60 craft beers on tap, more than 500 more in the cooler and a menu of tavern fare “crafted to perfectly complement beer.”
PizzaRev offers a fast-casual environment where patrons can customize 11″ pies for a set price. Options include fresh, homemade dough, locally sourced ingredients and natural cheeses. They also have vegan and gluten-free options.
“PizzaRev offers a fully-customized dining experience that empowers guests to craft a personal pizza, including any of the 30+ toppings, for one price,” the company wrote. “The pizzas are then fired in a 900-degree, stone-bed oven which produces a thin and crispy Roman-style pizza in just three minutes.”
Entrée salads are also on the menu, as is “a delectable Oreo dessert pizza.”
For pizza fans, this ought to bring to mind another relatively new offering to the local scene in Oath Craft Pizza, which has locations on Nantucket, in South Station and, as of just recently, Chestnut Hill Square. Their pizzas are made of a unique crust and fired in a specialized oven that cooks them in just 90 seconds.
