September 4, 2015 LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)- The countdown is on for the grand opening for the Outlets of Little Rock shopping mall.
The outlets are bringing dozens of stores and hundreds of jobs to the central Arkansas area.
Teresa Richards, general manager for the Outlets of Little Rock says they’re working high up in the air and laying the final bricks into place down on the ground.
“Very busy with a variety of things. From the tenants working on individual spaces. The concrete is complete other than a few corners, they’re finishing up the parking lot. Getting the landscaping in, so everything is going really well.”
Hundreds of workers are doing thousands of last minute jobs at the multi-million dollar shopping outlet.
Richards says all geared to save you money.
“We are expecting over 100,000 people for the weekend opening, so it’s going to be really exciting for everyone who’s out here.”
THV11 was invited along for the ride as construction crews stuccoed, ran wiring and cleaned up dust from store fronts.
From diamonds to jeans to cool kicks and beef jerky, Richards says the outlets will open just in time for the holiday shopping season.
“Something more park-like once they get started on some of the landscape and when we get our furniture and everything.”
The Outlets of Little Rock are still a diamond in the rough.
Of the 70 plus stores, only a handful will not be ready to open by next month. But Richards says it’s not just for shopping.
“Four food tenants in there, customer service and the security. Indoor and outdoor seating for around 300 people.”
Still to come outdoor kiosk, landscaping and soft outdoor seating.
Richards says the Outlets of Little Rock investing in being a part of this community for years to come.
“We want everyone to feel welcome here. That we’re not just bringing in everybody from out of state things like that. We want to try and help our local community.”
There will be a job fair held next Thursday in Benton to fill retail positions at all levels.
The outlets expect to announce more stores coming to Little Rock in the coming weeks.
