WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (February 14, 2014) – Palm Beach Outlets, Palm Beach County’s first outlet center, opens with much fanfare this Valentine’s weekend with a charity night, ribbon cutting, and celebrity fashions. Featuring over 100 stores including brand favorites Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, J.Crew | crewcuts Factory, Ann Taylor Factory Store, Banana Republic Factory Store, Kenneth Cole, Talbots, Under Armour Factory Store, and White House | Black Market, Palm Beach Outlets has been eagerly anticipated since New England Development and Eastern Real Estate announced the development.
Located directly off Interstate 95 on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Outlets is the only outlet shopping destination within 55 miles. Stephen R. Karp, Chairman of New England Development, was joined at Friday’s 9 AM ribbon cutting by New England Development’s President Steven S. Fischman and Executive Vice President Douglass E. Karp; Eastern Real Estate Principal Daniel J. Doherty III; Dean Adler, Lubert-Adler Partners, the Honorable Jeri Muoio, Mayor of West Palm Beach; Dennis Grady, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches; Jim Roberts, General Manager of Palm Beach Outlets, and members of the Palm Beach Outlets development team, business and community leaders and other dignitaries who have been instrumental in the development of Palm Beach Outlets.
In his remarks, Stephen Karp lauded the many people involved with opening a project of this magnitude. “I’m thrilled to be here today to celebrate the Grand Opening of Palm Beach Outlets with the hundreds of people who have helped make this day possible. I would particularly like to thank Jeri Muoio, Mayor of West Palm Beach; the Commissioners of the City of West Palm Beach; and the West Palm Beach Planning Board and City staff.” He continued, “We truly appreciate the dedication of the men and women who have worked so hard on this project. Palm Beach Outlets features over 100 outlet stores, including some of the best names in fashion, plus an adjacent retail center opening this fall that will feature a dynamic mix of national tenants including Whole Foods Market, Nordstrom Rack, Sports Authority and T.J. Maxx. The project is expected to have a $319 million economic impact as it becomes the premier outlet shopping attraction in Palm Beach County. Over 1,500 jobs are projected.
To celebrate its Grand Opening, Palm Beach Outlets is featuring a three-day, fun-filled schedule of activities from Thursday, February 13 – Saturday, February 15 featuring a charity night, ribbon cutting ceremony and celebrity style event. Throughout the weekend, guests are being treated to event specials, giveaways, and gift with purchase opportunities alongside live entertainment and plenty of shopping. Festivities officially kicked off with the “Open Hearts, Open Doors” charity preview night benefitting 20 local charities on Thursday February 13 from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. Guests enjoyed a special preview of the center enjoying an evening of VIP shopping, exclusive savings, prize giveaways, entertainment and more. Local non-profit organizations sold tickets to this exclusive preview night with 100% of ticket proceeds benefitting the participating charities. On Friday February 14, following the ribbon cutting ceremony, doors officially opened to the public for shopping. Festivities continue Saturday afternoon, as Palm Beach Outlets features a Celebrity Style event with celebrity host Mario Lopez as the emcee for a runway show showcasing the latest fashions from Palm Beach Outlet retailers. The public is invited to celebrate the best that spring as to offer in terms of fashion and style with beauty tips, a runway show and a celebrity-inspired spring wardrobe starting at 6:00 PM.
