Target Corp. will hold a job fair Jan. 7-10, hoping to recruit 250 workers to staff its new Westwood store scheduled to open in March.
The Minneapolis-based company said prospective employees must apply in advance to be added to a list of scheduled interviews. Managers will interview applicants between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. all four days at Target’s hiring center at 378 University Ave. in Westwood.
Target’s new location — its 38th in Massachusetts — will be part of the mixed-use University Station development that also will include Wegmans Food Markets, Nordstrom Rack, office and residential space, and a 160-room hotel.
Target will occupy 135,000 square feet in a building that will feature a Starbucks and pharmacy and optical departments.
The University Station project will redevelop 130 acres of land near the Route 128 train station in two phases. Phase one includes 500,000 square feet of retail and dining space, 350 high-end residential units and 100 assisted living units.
A second phase will add 350,000 square feet of office space, the hotel, and as many as 300 additional housing units.
